Dunedin

Dunedin (pronounced DONE-EE-DIN) is a small town featuring big city amenities. Any given day you will find locals and tourists alike strolling downtown enjoying a homemade ice cream cone, shopping in our unique stores or sitting under a shade tree at one of our many parks watching the day go by.

Dunedin is one of the few open waterfront communities from Sarasota to Cedar Key where buildings do not completely obscure the view of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico beyond; a 1-mile stretch of Edgewater Drive (also known as Alternate US 19) south of downtown offers views of St. Joseph Sound, Clearwater Beach, and Caladesi Island.

Since 1977, Dunedin is the spring training home of the Toronto Blue Jays, as well as the class-A Dunedin Blue Jays of the Florida State League. Dunedin is one of the smallest communities used by Major League spring training teams, although surrounded by a large metropolitan area.
Dunedin has been named one of the top five small walking communities by RunThePlanet.com. The Pinellas Trail biking and walking path, which winds its way from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs, bisects the compact town center, making Dunedin an ideal pit-stop for bicyclists and pedestrians. The nearby Hammock Park trail also adds to the town’s appeal.
